What it is

• airPowered is a fixed-base wireless solution designed to provide advanced broadband connectivity.
• airPowered uses The Canopy ™, a sophisticated high-speed technology from wireless communications leader Motorola that was originally developed for the military.
• Wireless broadband is quickly becoming one of the world’s preferred technologies for delivering advanced and in-demand high-speed internet access, IP-based voice, video, and data applications.
• The Canopy ™ product is deployed in more than 120 countries worldwide.

How it works

• As its name says, airPowered uses air, the Internet Access Space, by using a point-to-multipoint canopy solution.
• The airPowered Access Point (AP) unit is the brains of the system. These units are mounted on towers throughout Central Florida. By the end of 2008, the units will be mounted and operational on 17 towers.
• The AP “talks” to a Subscriber Module (SM) located on the side or roof of a building. This direct connection supplies fast downloads and even faster uploads, a must for those managing and moving large amounts of data or graphic files.
• The airPowered advantage is that customer data is not competing to move through congested cable or phone lines with other business and residential data traffic. Each airPowered client receives direct, fast connectivity.
• airPowered’s use of an intelligent tower network and diverse data centers allow each tower to make intelligent routing decisions based on the destination network.
• airPowered’s well-placed network of towers enables it to provide extensive redundancy to clients to ensure the fastest most efficient delivery of data.
